A new rumor says the upcoming iPhone 16 Slim model will feature a 6.6-inch display and is set for release next year.
Analyst Believes the iPhone 17 Slim will Offer a 6.6-inch Display, Thinner Aluminum Chassis, 48MP Camera, A19 Chip and More
This year’s iPhone lineup is boring, to say the least. Next year, Apple is looking to shake things up a little by introducing a brand new iPhone model to the lineup, called the iPhone 17 Slim. Think of it as a phone that will lay the foundation for future iPhone models.
While details regarding the iPhone 17 Slim are sparse, an analyst has jumped in, via AppleInsider, with some interesting things to note. One of those things is the size of the display and the Slim model will have a 6.6-inch panel.
That’s slightly smaller than the iPhone Plus it is going to replace and more smaller than the Pro Max model which currently ships with a 6.9-inch display.
The phone is said to be very thin. Probably one of the thinnest phones Apple has made and the company is looking to use aluminum as well for the chassis, not Titanium. It’s unclear whether it will be aluminum on the sides or the entire back.
I am sure it’s just the sides given the entire back made out of aluminum means the iPhone will lose wireless charging.
iPhone 17 Slim will be powered by the new A19 chip and will have 8GB of RAM instead of the rumored 12GB. This is probably not a big deal at all since 8GB has proven itself to be more than enough for iPhone, at least for now.
As software requirements change and new features become more powerful, Apple may revise this spec in future iPhone models.
Another interesting thing to note here is the camera. Despite its super-thin chassis, the phone will have a 48-megapixel camera at the back and a 24-megapixel camera at the front.
The latter has been previously rumored as well.
We are a year away from the new iPhone and it’s best to take everything above with a pinch of salt. As more details are leaked from the supply chain, only then we will know the true story about the upcoming iPhone lineup.
