A new report says Apple is set to launch the iPhone SE 4 alongside a slightly updated iPad Air and a new Magic Keyboard.

iPhone SE 4 Will Ditch the Home Button for Face ID, New iPad Air Refresh Coming Along with Updated Magic Keyboard

The report is an interesting one. According to Mark Gurman from Bloomberg, Apple is going to launch the brand new iPhone SE at the start of next year. While this is something we’ve been hearing about for quite some time, the thing that has me interested the most is the updated iPad Air. So, let’s start with that.

According to Mark Gurman, Apple is going to launch a new iPad Air in both 11-inch and 13-inch sizes that will focus on ‘internal improvements.’ Well, if that’s to be believed, it means Apple is likely going to upgrade the chip and make extremely small changes to make it more up to date.

But, the thing that fascinates me is this – why is Apple giving the iPad Air such an early upgrade?

Apart from internal changes, Apple is going to update the Magic Keyboard with features that are currently exclusive to the M4 iPad Pro keyboard accessory, such as the function row of keys.

Now, coming to the iPhone SE 4 – the smartphone is set for release early next year, something which we’ve heard about countless times already. The new iPhone is supposedly built around the iPhone 14’s design and will ditch the Home button in favor of Face ID. It’s safe to assume it is going to be powered by the same chip that powers the iPhone 16 and iPhone 16 Plus – the A18. This will enable Apple Intelligence features at a much lower price point.

Though there’s no fixed release date for these devices, but it’s safe to assume Apple will launch them around April. However, October is going to be a packed month as well, with Apple expected to announce a brand new set of Macs powered by the M4 chip.

It is also believed that Apple may announce a new iPad mini 7 and an updated iPad 11.
