According to a new report, the LTPO3 display technology from Apple Watch Series 10 will make it to the iPhone, eventually.

Apple Watch Series 10 Features LTPO3 Display Technology, Will Come to iPhone Eventually

Keeping the iPhone’s display on all the time and maintaining good battery life is a great feat of engineering. Apple pulls this off by using display technology called LTPO.

Currently, Apple is using LTPO2 displays in the iPhone 16 lineup, allowing it to deliver all-day battery life while keeping the display on all the time. According to a report by TheElec, battery life will get a significant boost when Apple brings LTPO3 tech to the iPhone lineup.

Before you get super excited, there are a few things you need to know. First of all, LTPO3 tech is currently being used in the Apple Watch Series 10 lineup. Secondly, the next iPhone, the iPhone 17, will not get this technology upgrade.

Not even the iPhone 18.

Now comes the part you definitely aren’t ready to hear – the iPhone 19 may be the first phone that feature LTPO3 technology. That’s very, very far away. But hey, it’s definitely coming.

Do keep one thing in mind, Apple may not use LTPO3 to deliver massive battery life improvements. Instead, it may use this technology to make the iPhone thinner while maintaining current battery life numbers.
