Apple has just released watchOS 11.0.1 for Apple Watch with a bunch of bug fixes – download it today.
watchOS 11.0.1 is Now Available for Download with a Bunch of Bug Fixes
The initial release of any new software update is generally buggy, but way stable compared to the beta. It takes a couple of small updates to make everything right and watchOS 11.0.1 is here to do just that and I highly recommend you go ahead and install the update right away.
Here’s everything new in this update:
This update includes bug fixes for your Apple Watch, including:
Apple Watch may unexpectedly restart for some users
Music app may unexpectedly quit when loading media
Battery may drain more quickly than expected
Touch screen may be temporarily unresponsive for some Apple Watch Series 9, Apple Watch Series 10, and Apple Watch Ultra 2 users
Messages may unexpectedly quit when replying to a message with a shared Apple Watch face
Installing watchOS 11.0.1 is super easy. First of all, you have to make sure your Apple Watch has 50% or more battery life remaining. If it does, you can start installing the update immediately. If it doesn’t, you have to leave it on its charger for a bit until it crosses the 50% mark. Once it has, this is what you need to do:
Step 1. Make sure you are connected to a Wi-Fi network.
Step 2. Launch the ‘Watch’ app on your iPhone.
Step 3. Go to General > Software Update.
Step 4. When watchOS 11.0.1 shows up, tap on ‘Update Now.’
The update is definitely going to take its time to install, I’ll give you that. watchOS updates are usually very slow and it’s best to leave your Apple Watch and iPhone on charge while the installation is in progress. Make yourself a cup of coffee in the meantime.
Once the installation is complete, you can start using your Apple Watch and iPhone as you normally would. But, this time, watchOS should be lot less buggy compared to how it was just a while back. At least, that’s the promise of this update.
I don’t expect this update to make everything perfect. It’s highly likely watchOS 11.1 is going to fix more bugs and that is expected to arrive some time this month. Believe it or not we are into October already, the very same month that will give us the long awaited Apple Intelligence features.
Before all of the good stuff arrives, it’s best to make sure you download small updates like these to keep your Apple Watch ticking along nicely. Just a few more days to go until things get really, really exciting, in terms of hardware and software, both.
