Did everything in your Notes app disappear on your iPhone and iPad? Though there’s a fix already, but Apple has come out with one officially.
The Official Disappearing Notes Fix is Here, but it isn’t much Different from the Previous Steps
A few days back, an interesting little issue emerged among iPhone and iPad users. It started off by accepting new iCloud terms and conditions, and suddenly everything from the Notes app disappeared.
The fix? Just re-enable the iCloud sync for Notes.
Apple has acknowledged the issue and has outlined steps which everyone should take to bring their notes back.
It’s basically the same steps posted here but with an additional step: restart the device once those steps are followed. Apparently, doing that ensures everything returns to normal.
Here’s what Apple wants you to do exactly as per its website:
Open the Settings app and tap your name.
Tap iCloud, then tap Notes.
Make sure Sync this [device] is on, then check the Notes app.
If you still don’t see your notes, restart your iPhone, iPad, or Apple Vision Pro. After restarting, check your settings again.
Interestingly, this bug was affecting Vision Pro users as well. If you have the same issue, then make sure you give everything a restart after enabling iCloud sync for Notes in the Settings.
Once that is done, everything should be back to normal, at least according to Apple.
I’m grateful that this issue didn’t affect me at all. But if I saw my Notes app down to zero, I would probably lose my mind for a good few minutes. The reason is simple: I use the Notes app a lot and rely on it way too much.
I really hope the fix you applied got your notes back and you did not lose anything at all. As much as we rely on technology to keep our lives organized, but whenever something goes south, it’s the worst feeling ever. It feels like proper betrayal.
