Final Cut Pro 11 is now available for download on the Mac with a bunch of brand-new features and changes.

Final Cut Pro 11 for Mac Now Available for Download with Great Features Like Magnetic Mask and More

Here’s a fun little fact about Final Cut you probably didn’t know – it’s been at version 10 since 2011. That’s a pretty long time.

After all these successful years, Apple is taking Final Cut Pro to version 11 on the Mac. There’s a new version out for iPad as well, but the Mac one is more important right now.

First and foremost, Final Cut Pro 11 adds support for editing Spatial Video shot using a supported camera, including the iPhone 15 Pro and iPhone 16. If you have footage sitting around and want to edit it properly, Final Cut Pro 11 adds full support for it.

There are other supported cameras out there too, such as those from Canon. With time, the list is only going to get bigger.

Another new feature making the cut here is called Transcribe to Captions. When enabled, the app will turn spoken words into closed captions on the fly. This means you no longer have to do this manually, saving you a ton of precious time.

Another feature which Apple is bringing to Final Cut Pro is Magnetic Mask. When used, you can mask an object or background, allowing you to make green screen-style edits instantly. Again, a feature that will save you a ton of time.

There are a handful of other improvements here as well, which you can read about directly on the Mac App Store.

You can download Final Cut Pro 11 from the Mac App Store right now as a free update. If you’re downloading the app for the first time, it’ll cost you $299.99.

I know the price is steep, but it’s a piece of software everyone swears by.

Final Cut Pro 2.1 for iPad

Like I said, Final Cut Pro for iPad gets an update, too. Though not as big as the Mac update above, users get features like Enhance Light and Color, allowing you to quickly make light and color adjustments (obviously) in a far more touch-friendly manner.

Support for haptic feedback has been added, too. If you have an Apple Pencil Pro, make sure you look out for haptics when trimming video, scrolling through the timeline, and more.

You can read about the updates right on the App Store here.

Final Cut Pro for iPad still costs $4.99 per month or $49 per year.
