iOS 18.2 and iPadOS 18.2 Public Beta 2 Now Available for Download with Same Refinements as Developer Beta
iOS 18.2 and iPadOS 18.2 beta 3 were released for developers just a while ago. Today, the same build is available for those who are enrolled in Apple’s public beta program.
The steps for downloading public beta 2 of iOS 18.2 and iPadOS 18.2 are exactly the same as any other iPhone or iPad software update.
Here’s what you have to do:
Step 1. Connect your iPhone and iPad to a power source if battery is below 50%.
Step 2. Connect to a Wi-Fi network by going to Settings > Wi-Fi.
Step 3. Now go to Settings > General > Software Update.
Step 4. Tap on ‘Update now’ when public beta 2 shows up for download.
The installation shouldn’t take that long, and you can start using your device as soon as everything is complete.
You can expect the same changes in this beta that were shipped with the developer-only build. This includes a bunch of refinements to already-existing features, nothing else.
Downloading the public beta for the first time is pretty easy. You can follow the steps outlined here for more details.
If you don’t want to read through the tutorial, let me give you a short version of it.
Using Safari on your iPhone or iPad, open beta.apple.com. Once you’re here, sign up using your Apple Account. Once done, go to Settings > General > Software Update > Beta Updates and enable iOS 18 Public Beta.
Once you’re done with that, you’ll see the iOS 18.2 and iPadOS 18.2 public beta by going to Settings > General > Software Update.
The full and final version of iOS 18.2 and iPadOS 18.2 is expected to be released in the first week of December. Until then, you can test out all the new Apple Intelligence features in beta on a compatible iPhone and iPad.
