Apple has released beta 1 of watchOS 11.2, tvOS 18.2, and visionOS 2.2 for Apple Watch, Apple TV, and Vision Pro.
You Can Now Download Beta 1 of watchOS 11.2, tvOS 18.2 and visionOS 2.2 if You’re a Developer
Apart from the second beta of iOS 18.2 and macOS 15.2, Apple has released beta 1 of watchOS 11.2, tvOS 18.2, and visionOS 2.2. If you were patiently waiting for new beta software to arrive, your wish has been fulfilled today.
As you’d expect, these updates are available for developers only for now. I do expect these updates to become available for public beta testers soon. Whenever that happens, I’ll inform my readers about it.
However, do keep one thing in mind – we might not see a public beta for VisionOS 2.2. Apple did not release one when VisionOS 2.0 was in beta, nor when VisionOS 2.1 was in its early stages. It’s safe to assume Apple will do the same thing this time as well.
You can, obviously, download the new beta 1 of watchOS 11.2, tvOS 18.2, and visionOS 2.2 instantly on your devices. Do keep in mind that you cannot downgrade watchOS 11.2 back to watchOS 11.1, since that’s how Apple Watch updates work. The same goes for visionOS 11.2.
There’s an exception for tvOS 18.2, only if you own an Apple TV with a USB-C port. If you don’t, then you cannot downgrade either.
I will not suggest downloading these updates unless you really feel the need to test them out for some reason. Since it’s super early software, the chances of instability across the board are very high. It’s best to stay away for at least two betas and then make the jump.
Own a device that’s meant for beta testing only? Then install it right away.
