According to a notice put up by EE, you can expect the iOS 18.2 and iPadOS 18.2 updates to come out on the 9th of December.
EE Ending Support for Wi-Fi Calling on iCloud Devices on the 9th of December, Likely Date for iOS 18.2 Release
Apple said iOS 18.2 and iPadOS 18.2 will be released in December. Another report says Apple is going to release the updates in the first week of the same month.
Turns out, Apple may just release said updates on the 9th of December, which happens to be a Monday, too. This makes the date extremely probable, too.
The source of this news is a notice put up by EE, in which the operator says they will be ending Wi-Fi calling support on other iCloud devices on the 9th of December.
This means that on the 9th of December, EE is dropping support for a feature in which you can still make phone calls using your iPad or Mac using Wi-Fi even if your iPhone is not with you.
But, the end time of this support is very interesting.
However, there’s weight to this as the latest iOS 18.2 betas remove support for Wi-Fi calling on other devices, thanks to the latest EE carrier update for iPhone.
This change is currently only live on the latest iOS 18.2 beta.
If the change is to go live on the 9th of December, then it means that’s likely the day Apple is going to release the update for everyone.
Not only that, Apple will likely release macOS Sequoia 15.2 on the same day as well.
So, if you’ve been waiting for a concrete release date for iOS 18.2, iPadOS 18.2 and macOS 15.2, you (sort of) have it now.
Although this is great guesswork, I wouldn’t really ask my readers to put a circle around the 9th of December. Who knows, Apple might just release the update earlier and actually in the first week of December instead.
Deep down inside, I have a strange feeling that this date may actually be correct. Only time will tell, though.
