Apple is all set to launch the brand-new iPhone SE 4 smartphone in March with its very own 5G modem.
Analyst Confirms Apple is Set to Launch iPhone SE 4 in March of 2025 with Apple’s In-House 5G Modem
The launch is ‘confirmed’ according to Barclays analyst Tom O’Malley (via MacRumors), and he says that the world can get its hands on the fourth-generation iPhone SE in March.
If that launch window sounds familiar, it’s because it is. Apple launched the iPhone SE 3 back in 2022 in March as well.
In terms of specs, you can expect the new iPhone SE 4 to feature Apple’s brand-new A18 chip, not the Pro version, obviously. Apart from that, 8GB of RAM is definitely going to be there for Apple Intelligence.
A 6.1-inch OLED display with a notch and Face ID is going to live at the front, and a 48-megapixel camera can be found at the back. USB-C is going to handle charging and connectivity.
However, the real star of the show is Apple’s in-house 5G modem, which has been in development for a long time. It seems like the modem is now ready and set for debut with the iPhone SE 4.
Though the iPhone SE is getting a huge upgrade in terms of design, but Apple is primarily going to focus on its Apple Intelligence capabilities at a lower price point.
If Apple can pull this off on iPhone SE, I’m sure it has some binned A17 Pro or A18 chips lying around for the entry-level iPad as well.
It will be interesting to see if the new iPhone SE is successful in capturing the lower priced smartphone market. I have a hunch this phone’s success will mainly lie in carrier deals in which you can grab the phone on a contract for free.
Data shows that people are willing to spend top dollar on devices like the iPhone 16 Pro Max, and buyers are skipping the iPhone 16. That’s exactly why the new iPhone SE is starting to look like an interesting device already.
