The Fantastic iPhone XS Max, Released Back in 2018, is Now Considered Vintage by Apple
The way this works is pretty simple. When five years have passed since Apple stopped shipping a product, it’s considered vintage.
If you are holding on to the iPhone XS Max, it’s now vintage, and Apple or any authorized repair outlet will only do repairs on it as long as parts are available.
The strange thing here is, the iPhone XS is not vintage yet. But I’m sure it will be soon.
I still remember the day I got the iPhone XS Max, and it was one of the most exciting iPhones I’ve bought in a long time. The reasons were simple: larger display and dual SIM support.
With the iPhone X, the only thing I wanted was a larger display, and Apple delivered with the iPhone XS Max. It really took the entire experience to a whole new level. From texting to watching movies, it was a huge upgrade.
However, the addition of dual SIM support was a big one. I never used it on an iPhone, and I wanted to see how it would help, and it definitely did.
For me, the fact that I could stay online because I now had wider coverage, thanks to having 2 carrier lines working at the same time, was amazing.
With time, Apple kept on improving dual SIM support on iPhones, and now it switches networks instantly. This improvement alone makes a huge difference since your iPhone never drops out completely if you go into a no-coverage zone.
Back to the iPhone XS Max – it was and always will be one of my favorite iPhones to date. It only took Apple one generation to perfect the design of the iPhone X, and they absolutely nailed it.
Seeing the device go into the vintage list definitely stirred up some emotions, especially from the day I set my eyes on it the first time and was blown away by how big the display was, that too on an iPhone.
And, in case you’re wondering, I bought the iPhone XS Max in Space Gray. The one and only color you should buy an iPhone in.
