Wondering what has changed in iOS 18.2 beta 3 update for iPhone and iPad devices? Here’s everything new and noteworthy.
iOS 18.2 Beta 3 Focuses on Key Refinements, Here’s Everything New in the Update
The changes in iOS 18.2 and iPadOS 18.2 aren’t that big, really. I would prefer to cal them refinements that should have been there since iOS 18.0.
Now that they’re here, let’s have a look at them.
Camera Control ‘Require Screen On’ Toggle Switch
There’s a new toggle switch in the Display & Brightness section of the Settings app, which requires the display to be turned on before you can launch the Camera app using Camera Control.
If you have an iPhone 16 or iPhone 16 Pro, look forward to this feature.
Photos App No Longer Zooms Out Content by Default
It’s annoying how the Photos app zooms out the photo or video when you open it up. Tap on it once, and it fills the display.
With beta 3, that is no longer the case. It simply opens up zoomed in, the way it should be.
Refinements to Writing Tools
Bring up Writing Tools and you’ll notice how everything looks streamlined, especially the ChatGPT icon, which looks like the official logo rather than the rainbow one which Apple used in beta 2.
Everything Else
Of course, there are other refinements baked in many corners of iOS 18.2 beta 3 including better dark mode icons.
Given the refinements Apple has included in the latest beta of iOS 18.2, I will highly recommend updating your device right now if you’ve been testing out the software for a while.
If you’re running beta 2, you can update to the latest version by going to Settings > General > Software Update.
Expect the full and final version of iOS 18.2 and iPadOS 18.2 become available for download in the first week of December.
