A heart rate monitor is going to be a part of the AirPods Pro 3, which means Apple is stepping up the health credentials of its earbuds.

AirPods Pro 3 will Have Heart Rate Monitoring, Future Models to Include a Camera for AI

Apple turned the AirPods Pro 2 into a clinical-grade hearing aid just a while back. Not only that, you can even take a hearing test using your AirPods Pro 2.

Turns out, Apple is not done putting health-related features to the AirPods Pro. According to Mark Gurman, heart rate monitoring is coming to the AirPods Pro 3.

Given the AirPods Pro 3 and its heart rate monitoring are currently in early development, this means it will be a while before it’s released to the public.

I’m only going to assume we can see them being released sometime later next year, most likely alongside the new iPhone lineup.

The report says there’s no hint when exactly the new AirPods Pro will launch, so there’s that.

In its internal testing, Apple has found that the Apple Watch is far more accurate when it comes to heart rate monitoring. However, the AirPods Pro 3 provides measurements that are pretty close to the real thing.

The heart rate monitor is going to be an important feature for everyone, especially those who do not own an Apple Watch and find themselves working out a lot while wearing their AirPods.

Though not going to be a part of the AirPods Pro 3, the report goes on to say that Apple is going to add cameras to the AirPods for AI-related stuff.
