Apple is no longer signing iOS 18.1.1 and iPadOS 18.1.1, which means you can no longer downgrade your iPhone or iPad.
You Can’t Downgrade from iOS 18.2 or iPadOS 18.2 as Apple is No Longer Signing iOS 18.1.1 and iPadOS 18.1.1
Since iOS 18.2 and iPadOS 18.2 are out, it makes sense that Apple would stop signing the older firmware, and it just did.
At the time of writing, Apple has stopped signing iOS 18.1.1 and iPadOS 18.1.1. What this means is that you can’t downgrade to the older firmware from iOS 18.2 or iPadOS 18.2.
So, what are your options at this point? None, actually. Because once a firmware is no longer signed, you can’t restore it no matter what you tried.
There was a time when jailbreaking and saving SHSH blobs made downgrading a reality no matter the signing status, but we’re way beyond that now.
Apple has put a lot of measures in place to ensure downgrading is no longer possible.
You may have good reasons for downgrading, but I will still recommend sticking with iOS 18.2 and iPadOS 18.2. If you haven’t downloaded it yet, go to Settings > General > Software Update now.
Running the latest firmware update is always a good idea. It is packed with a lot of security fixes, which is always important to have in this day and age where cyber attacks are becoming more common than ever.
