Apple has released a brand-new HomePod software update version 18.2. Here is everything that is new.
HomePod 18.2 Update Now Available for Download with Natural Language Search for Apple Music
If you have a HomePod at home, literally any model at all, there’s a brand-new software update available for download.
Version 18.2 is here for all HomePod devices, including the original model. These are the changes included with the new update:
Software version 18.2 includes bug fixes and stability improvements.
Siri on HomePod is now integrated with Apple Music natural language search so you can describe what you want to hear using any combination of categories like genre, mood, decade or activity.
Enhance Dialogue on HomePod (2nd generation) when paired with Apple TV 4K gives you the option to hear speech more clearly over background sounds using real-time audio processing and machine learning.
If you are subscribed to Apple Music and want to search for a song in the most ‘human’ way possible, you can now do that. Just describe it to Siri, and you’ll get the exact song you want to hear.
Downloading the new update is easy, and I’m sure you’ve done it before a million times already. If you haven’t, then here’s what you need to do:
- Launch the Home app on your iPhone, iPad or Mac.
- At the top right you’ll see ‘three dots.’ Tap or click on it for more options.
- Now open ‘Home Settings.’
- Go down a little and open ‘Software Update.’
Chances are high the update is downloading on its own already.
Apart from the above update, Apple has also released iOS 18.2, iPadOS 18.2 and macOS 15.2 with new Apple Intelligence features.
