iOS 18.2 and iPadOS 18.2 are out now, and here’s how you can downgrade back to iOS 18.1.1 and iPadOS 18.1.1 on iPhone and iPad.

Apple is Still Signing iOS 18.1.1 and iPadOS 18.1.1, Downgrade from iOS 18.2 and iPadOS 18.2 Possible on iPhone and iPad

For any reason at all you want to downgrade iOS 18.2 or iPadOS 18.2 back to iOS 18.1.1 or iPadOS 18.1.1, you still have time to do it.

As long as iOS 18.1.1 and iPadOS 18.1.1 are being signed by Apple, you can downgrade from iOS 18.2 and iPadOS 18.2.

Before you do anything at all, please know that this process is going to erase everything off your iPhone and iPad. Therefore, take a backup of everything before moving an inch further.

Once that is done, make sure you download the correct IPSW firmware file for your iPhone and iPad, and save it to your desktop.

Download iOS 18.1.1 and iPadOS 18.1.1 Firmware Files

As the IPSW file is downloading, take this time to disable Find My on your iPhone and iPad. Follow the tutorial posted here on how to do that.

Follow these steps and downgrade back to iOS 18.1.1 or iPadOS 18.1.1:

Step 1. Connect your iPhone and iPad to your Mac using a USB-C or Lightning cable.

Step 2. Launch ‘Finder.’

Step 3. As your device is detected, it will show up in the list of options on the left. Click on it to open.

Step 4. Hold down the left ‘Option’ key on the keyboard and click on the ‘Restore iPhone/iPad’ button.

Step 5. Select the iOS or iPadOS IPSW firmware file you saved to your desktop.

Finder will extract the contents of the firmware file, restore it onto your device, verify it, and then you can start using your iPhone and iPad. But it will be running iOS 18.1.1 or iPadOS 18.1.1, instead of iOS 18.2 or iPadOS 18.2.
