A leaker with a solid track record has confirmed that the iOS 18.2.1 for iPhone is definitely on its way.

iOS 18.2.1 and iPadOS 18.2.1 with Build Number 22C161 Confirmed, Release Imminent

iOS 18.2.1 started showing up in web logs a while back, and it was safe to assume that the update will likely be released after the holidays, if it truly exists.

However, a prominent leaker has jumped into the scene and has confirmed that the new update is definitely in the works and carries a build number of 22C161, compared to iOS 18.2’s 22C152.

As the version number suggests, this is likely a bug fix release, an update that is always great to have.

Though iOS 18.2.1 is coming, Apple is also working on iOS 18.3 and iPadOS 18.3. At the time of writing, it seems as though the 18.3 update purely focuses on refining the iPhone and iPad experience without adding new features.

Since the beta 1 of iOS 18.3 is already available, it will be a while before the full and final version becomes available for download. Though rumors do suggest the update should roll out in spring alongside a brand-new iPad.

Though it’s hard to tell when exactly iOS 18.2.1 will be released, a release sometime in the next couple of weeks seems probable.

Whenever it arrives, I’ll definitely post about it and inform everyone. Make sure to download it whenever it arrives.
