iOS 18.2 and iPadOS 18.2 final update will be available to download this week. Here are 2 things you should do before the update goes live.
Check Your Free Space and Consider Installing the RC Before Final Version of iOS 18.2 Becomes Available this Week
I’m sure you’re really excited about iOS 18.2 and iPadOS 18.2. Honestly, me too!
It is packed with a ton of brand-new features, especially if you have a device that supports Apple Intelligence.
However, you won’t be able to use those features on time if you don’t go through a couple of important things. So, in order to save you some trouble, check out the following guide right now, rather than tomorrow or the day after.
Check Your Free Space
Make sure you have around 10GB of free space on your iPhone and iPad before the update becomes available for download.
Check free storage space by going to Settings > General > iPhone/iPad Storage and see the amount of storage that’s free at the top.
If your storage is in the red and it needs freeing up, start by deleting apps you don’t use.
Download iOS 18.2 or iPadOS 18.2 RC
The RC (release candidate) is the full and final version that is currently available for developers and beta testers. You can download it right now, really.
I will ask you to consider this because when the final update goes live, a lot of people are going to download it at the same time. This means you may experience slow download speeds or some wait time.
