A new report claims that Apple will launch the brand-new iPad mini with an OLED display as soon as 2026.
Apple is Going to Upgrade a Ton of Devices to OLED, Including the iPad mini as Early as 2026
Previously, it was believed that Apple is going to release the iPad mini 8 with OLED. Which basically means we might not see it earlier than 2027.
However, according to research firm Omedia, via MacRumors, Apple may launch the OLED iPad mini as early as 2026, and there is a chance that launch may spill over to 2027.
That’s not all. Apple will bring the OLED to iPad Air as well, but in models that are set for release in 2027 and 2028. Both 11-inch and 13-inch models will get the OLED upgrade.
The iPad Air was previously rumored to get the OLED upgrade in 2026.
Apple will also bring OLED to the MacBook Pro lineup in 2026. Meanwhile, the 13-inch and 15-inch MacBook Air will be upgraded in 2028.
But it gets interesting.
It is also believed that Apple is going to launch a foldable device with an 18.8-inch display with a refresh rate of 120Hz in 2028. It’s hard to speculate what this device will actually be.
While all of this seems overwhelming at first, each and every single device above has been rumored to get the OLED upgrade. However, the foldable 18.8-inch device is particularly interesting here.
It’s hard to say whether this device is a foldable iPad or a MacBook. Whatever it is, it seems as though Apple is ready to dip its toes into foldables.
