I bought one because I didn’t have a choice, and I never thought about buying a Wi-Fi-only iPad, and here’s why.

Once You Buy a Cellular, It’s Hard to Go Back to a Wi-Fi-Only iPad

A long time back, I wanted to get a 9.7-inch iPad Pro, and the only model immediately available was the cellular one. It was just a little extra money, so I went ahead with it.

Popped in my SIM card, and suddenly realized the iPad was finally out of its cage and was ready to be used anywhere at all.

Since then, I have only bought cellular iPads, nothing else.

Even the iPad 10 is available in a 5G cellular option.

Right now, I own the 11-inch and 12.9-inch iPad Pro with M1 and cellular. Both have data SIM cards inside them, and I never think about Wi-Fi when I take them with me.

They’re always updating in the background, and I never ever have to worry about finding Wi-Fi just to send a simple text message.

My emails, apps, photos, calendars, reminders, everything is in sync all the time. I’m basically unstoppable with a cellular iPad.

I know a lot of people think they don’t ‘need’ a cellular iPad, and I didn’t either until I got one. Next time, spend the extra money and see how it works for you too.

You won’t lose anything with cellular. It’s an option that’s always going to be there, and you can always keep using your iPad on Wi-Fi even if you don’t use cellular.
