You can now download and install watchOS 11.2 RC on your Apple Watch over the air if you’re a developer.
Apple has Released watchOS 11.2 RC for Developers, Expect the Final Release for Everyone Next Week
watchOS 11.2 RC is now available for download if you are a developer with Apple. This means if you’ve been testing out the beta for quite a while now, here’s what you have to do in order to install the RC build:
- Place your Apple Watch on its charger.
- Launch the Watch app on your iPhone.
- Go to General > Software Update.
- Tap on Update Now when watchOS 11.2 RC shows up for download.
Do keep in mind Apple Watch updates take a while to install. Once everything is complete, you can start using your smartwatch normally, or leave it on charge, entirely up to you.
If you’re really eager to install watchOS 11.2 RC right now on your Apple Watch, just sign up to Apple’s Developer Program. But I wouldn’t recommend doing it at all. Just wait one more week and the final version will become available to everyone.
Also, do keep in mind that once you download the new update, there’s no going back to watchOS 11.1. Downgrading software on Apple Watch is not possible.
