Wondering which iPhone, iPad, and Mac devices support Wi-Fi 6E and Wi-Fi 7? Here’s the complete list.

All Latest iPhone, iPad and Mac Models Support Wi-Fi 6E, But Not All of them Support Wi-Fi 7

As long as you are using 5GHz Wi-Fi on your iPhone, iPad, and Mac, you’re doing absolutely fine. However, for the ultimate experience, especially if you have gigabit internet at home, you need Wi-Fi 6E and Wi-Fi 7 support.

Thankfully, almost all Apple devices support Wi-Fi 6E at this point, and Wi-Fi 7 support is being slowly rolled out.

Chances are, the device you are currently using supports Wi-Fi 6, but if a faster Wi-Fi standard, and more specifically, that 6GHz band from Wi-Fi 6E and above is your priority, then you should know which device supports it at this current point in time.

For those who aren’t aware – with Wi-Fi 6E, you get access to the brand-new 6GHz band, which is way faster compared to 5GHz. Whereas with Wi-Fi 7, your device is able to use all three – 2.4GHz, 5GHz, and 6GHz – bands at the same time for an extremely fast internet experience.

Let’s start things off with Wi-Fi 7.

Apple Devices that Support Wi-Fi 7

At the time of writing, only the iPhone 16, iPhone 16 Plus, iPhone 16 Pro and iPhone 16 Pro Max support Wi-Fi 7. This means these devices can connect to 2.4GHz, 5GHz and 6GHz simultaneously for an extremely fast internet experience.

Do keep in mind you need a Wi-Fi 7 router that supports multi-link operation (MLO) on all three bands to get the most out of the support.

Apple Devices that Support Wi-Fi 6E

Wi-Fi 6E has been around for a while and all of the latest Apple devices, including iPhone, iPad and Mac supports it.

Here are all the Apple devices that support Wi-Fi 6E:

  • iPhone 15 Pro and above
  • iPad Air with M2 and above
  • iPad Pro 11-inch 4th-generation and above
  • iPad Pro 12.9-inch 6th-generation and above
  • iPad mini with A17 Pro
  • MacBook Air 2024 and above
  • MacBook Pro 2023 and above
  • iMac 2023 and above
  • Mac mini 2023 and above
  • Mac Studio 2023 and above
  • Mac Pro 2023 and above

At this point, it’s safe to assume that all of the above devices will get support for Wi-Fi 7 whenever they are refreshed next. But if you only care about Wi-Fi 6E support currently, then you know what to buy.

Make sure you have a Wi-Fi 6E router in order to take full advantage of the wireless standard.

I’m sure you probably noticed it by now – the entry-level iPad is nowhere to be found in the list above. That’s because it only supports Wi-Fi 6 at this point.

If you already have a Wi-Fi 6E Apple device and router, but can’t access the 6GHz band, don’t panic. Follow this tutorial and you’ll be up and running in no time.

Last but not least, all of the above devices are backwards compatible with older Wi-Fi standards as well.
