Apple Vice President Kim Vorrath is joining the AI team to fix and improve Siri and Apple Intelligence.
Kim Vorrath Joins Apple’s AI Team to Fix Siri and Apple Intelligence
Compared to everyone else, Apple Intelligence and Siri are not in great shape. It will be a while until it is comparable to the competition.
In fact, Siri is so bad that it failed a basic knowledge test about the Super Bowl.
Apple knows that this is an issue and has brought in veteran Kim Vorrath to work with the AI team, according to Bloomberg.
As someone who has been at Apple for 37 years, Kim Vorrath knows a lot about managing software-related projects at Apple.
Prior to working with the AI team, Kim was assigned to the Vision Pro team, which speaks volumes about her experience.
Now, she will be working next to Apple’s AI boss John Giannandrea.
At the time of writing, Apple’s biggest issue is Siri, not Apple Intelligence itself. For ‘first generation’ software, it nails the basics, especially when it comes to integration with the ecosystem.
Siri, as an assistant, needs a ton of work until it can be remotely comparable to the likes of ChatGPT and Gemini. Hopefully, with the new Apple veteran around, things will start to improve, that too on time.
Do keep in mind an improved version of Siri, powered by Apple Intelligence, is yet to be released as part of the iOS 18.4 update. With iOS 19, Siri will see further improvements as well.
Another issue which Apple is facing is the delayed rollout of features. In fact, a recent report did mention that Apple might do the same delayed and staggered rollout with iOS 19 as well. But hopefully, that won’t be the case now.
