Tired of the Annoying ‘Now Playing’ Notification on iPhone Lock Screen When Someone Plays Something on Apple TV? Disable it
Noticed that Apple TV ‘now playing’ notification on your iPhone Lock Screen whenever you’re playing something on your TV? Well, it’s a feature.
While it is a useful one, but I noticed a lot of people don’t like it for some reason.
Thankfully, you can completely get rid of it in a few easy steps and I’m going to show you how right away:
Step 1. On your iPhone, launch the ‘Settings’ app.
Step 2. Now tap on ‘General.’
Step 3. Open ‘AirPlay & Continuity.’
Step 4. Now open ‘Automatically AirPlay’ at the top.
Step 5. Select ‘Never.’
There’s a similar feature on the Apple Watch too. Thankfully, you can disable that as well. I’ve done a full tutorial on it, and you can check it out by going to this link.
I never found the Apple TV notification annoying because, believe it or not, I use my iPhone as the remote a lot. Most of the time, I have no clue where my Apple TV remote went, so this serves the purpose really well.
I will highly recommend using your iPhone as your Apple TV remote. It’s the best thing you can do since you don’t have to deal with the weird trackpad and buttons at all on the hardware remote. Everything is done conveniently on the touch screen and it feels like a breeze.
