NVIDIA has officially announced that it is bringing its game streaming service GeForce NOW to Vision Pro.

NVIDIA GeForce NOW Game Streaming Service Coming to Vision Pro Later this Month

You should keep in mind that NVIDIA isn’t launching a dedicated app for the Vision Pro. Instead, you will be able to enjoy all the GeForce NOW titles within Safari.

NVIDIA says that a software update is coming later this month, which will add support for GeForce NOW.

I’ll just assume that this software update is visionOS 2.3. If that’s the case, it seems as though NVIDIA might have leaked Apple’s software release plan too.

But hey, it’s a good move.

When streaming games, you will be able to enjoy Ray Tracing and NVIDIA DLSS. However, the official announcement post does not say anything about HDR or Spatial Audio support.

At this point, it doesn’t matter. Even if there isn’t any HDR or Spatial Audio support, there’s a chance it will come to the headset later on. At least the initial launch will get the ball rolling.

Apple has changed some App Store rules recently, and NVIDIA has the opportunity to launch a dedicated GeForce NOW app. But for some reason, it’s taking the Safari route.

But again, at least it’s a start.

With time, the Vision Pro will turn into a very viable option for gaming, though an expensive one.

Reports do suggest Apple is working to bring PSVR controller support to the Vision Pro. This goes to show how serious Apple is when it comes to gaming on the Vision Pro.

Another important part of the announcement is this: GeForce NOW is coming to the Meta Quest 3 and 3S, both. If you own any of the two headsets, you’re in for a treat too.
