A new report sheds light on the rumored HomePod with display and says that it is set for launch this year.
Apple is on Track to Launch its HomePod with Built-in Display this Year
2025 is going to be an interesting year for Apple because it is rumored to launch a device that belongs to a brand-new category.
That device is a smart display with a built-in speaker (or the other way around) and the latest report from Mark Gurman sheds more light on its launch.
The report says that the device is set for launch this year, and it is an extremely important release for Apple. Not only that, this is considered a next big thing for Apple’s smart home plan.
The thing that interests me the most about the report is this: how this device is actually being described.
According to Mark, it’s like a ‘smaller and cheaper iPad.’ The purpose? ‘Control appliances, conduct FaceTime chats, and handle other tasks.’
Very interesting choice of words there.
Just a while back, Ming-Chi Kuo mentioned this device as well and said it will launch with the A18 chip, Apple Intelligence, and a display that is somewhere between 6 and 7 inches in size.
This device is also said to go into production in the second half of 2025, which means we can expect its launch at the end of the year.
At this point, we have two different sources saying the same thing: the HomePod with built-in display is coming this year.
Hardware launches are getting interesting once again.
