A new rumor suggests that the upcoming iPhone SE 4 might actually end up being called the iPhone 16E.
iPhone SE 4 Could be the iPhone 16E, According to the Latest Rumor
It’s safe to assume that the successor to the iPhone SE will end up being called the iPhone SE too. However, if a new rumor is anything to go by, it seems as though Apple is going to break that trend this year.
According to Majin Bu on X, the upcoming smartphone will be called iPhone 16E and will have a design similar to the iPhone 14. It will even ship with an Action Button, something which has been reported before several times.
Another thing of note here is the inclusion of an OLED display, something which has been reported multiple times too.
It’s very, very hard to say how much weight this name-change rumor has. But if it’s true, I like it and it makes perfect sense too.
The name ‘iPhone SE’ is always associated with a ‘cheap’ iPhone. Hopefully, the ‘iPhone 16E’ name will change that a little and give buyers confidence that what they’re buying into an inferior product line.
A recent report suggested that the upcoming handset will see an increase in price as well, and it will be somewhere close to $500 yet under it.
Another thing that makes the new iPhone important is the inclusion of Apple’s own 5G modem. Though rumored to be inferior compared to what Qualcomm is offering but it will give Apple way more control over how it will work inside the iPhone.
There are a ton of things to look forward to, and the alleged new name makes it even more exciting.
We can expect the new iPhone to be announced sometime in March.
