A new report says Apple’s Vision Pro 2 won’t be released in 2025. Instead, it is prioritizing the cheaper headset.
Vision Pro 2 with M5 is Not Coming in 2025, Apple is Focusing on the Cheaper Headset Instead
Vision Pro 2 with the M5 chip is expected to launch sometime in 2025. However, according to a new report by Mark Gurman, that’s not happening.
The Vision Pro 2 is definitely coming, just not in 2025. At the moment, Apple’s priority is to get a cheaper Vision headset out the door first, and its development is ‘ramping up,’ according to Mark.
It suddenly gets interesting.
Apple is not focusing on a mixed reality headset only. It is working on smart glasses too as well as AirPods with built-in cameras. Something that has been reported before as well.
None of this stuff will arrive in 2025. But the fact that Apple is working on them should excite everyone.
Last but not least, the Apple smart display might miss the March launch window. Since the hardware relies on features that are part of iOS 18.4, Apple wants to perfectly align the launch with that.
Another thing the report touches on is this: Apple is also working on a smart home camera, and it will be released in 2026.
Of all things Apple has in the pipeline, I’m very interested in the cheaper Vision headset. I’m really interested to see how Apple intends to bring the full feature set of the visionOS experience without sacrificing too much in terms of hardware.
