I gave Stage Manager several tries, but it didn’t quite work out for me. But, I have finally found one great reason to have it around.
Stage Manager Might Not Work for Everyone, but if You Use iPhone Apps a lot, You’ll Dig it

The great thing about using macOS (in real desktop mode) compared to Stage Manager on iPadOS is pretty simple: you are in control over how apps work.
You can resize them however you like, stack them however you want, and put icons wherever you feel like it.
With Stage Manager on iPad, there are a few set rules you have to follow.
You can’t resize windows however you please. Apps sometimes have a mind of their own when it comes to placement and several other reasons. And, you can’t put icons on the ‘desktop.’
I just want Stage Manager to work for me, not the other way around.
However, the one great thing about Stage Manager is how it works with iPhone-only apps. Apps like Instagram, Threads, and countless others all look fantastic in Stage Manager.
You don’t get to see that black background while using iPhone apps, and you can make apps bigger or smaller very precisely.
The fact that you can have more than several iPhone apps together at the same time in Stage Manager is an icing on the cake. You can’t do this in the normal iPadOS view.
This is the only reason why I started using Stage Manager on my iPad. For everything else, it’s the regular Split View and Slide Over.
