Here is everything that is new in the latest iOS 18.3 and iPadOS 18.3 beta 3 updates for iPhone and iPad.

Wondering What’s New in iOS 18.3 and iPadOS 18.3 Beta 3? Changes to How You Access Genmoji and More

Turns out, iOS 18.3 and iPadOS 18.3 are not just bug-fix-only updates. There are a couple of meaningful changes in these updates.

I’m going to quickly dive into these changes in beta 3 so that you know exactly what you can expect from the update when it is released later this month.

Genmoji in Messages

If you press the + button in the Messages app while in a thread, you’ll see a new Genmoji entry. This change makes so much sense because you no longer have to bring up the emoji keyboard to start creating your custom Genmoji.

Notification Summaries Disabled

Don’t worry, not all notification summaries are disabled. Apple is currently doing this temporarily for news and entertainment apps.

The thing is, AI can get things wrong. In order to prevent that, Apple is not taking any chances and wants to make sure AI does not conjure up a lie and hand it to you.

When Apple has polished its AI, I’m sure this feature will come back up for everyone.

Other Changes

Everything else is basically bug fixes and not worth pointing out here. The above two changes are what matter the most, and I’m glad these changes are coming through for everyone later.

Though iOS 18.3 and iPadOS 18.3 are set for release later this month, you can take the updates for a spin right now by installing the public beta.
