Well, it turns out Apple is working on the iOS 18.3.1 update for iPhone and iPad already. It may become available for download soon.
iOS 18.3.1 and iPadOS 18.3.1 Update Start Showing up in Web Activity Logs
As we wait for the inevitable release of iOS 18.4 and iPadOS 18.4 with the advanced Siri update, Apple is already working on iOS 18.3.1 and iPadOS 18.3.1 for iPhone and iPad.
The news comes from MacRumors, as they have started to notice the update show up in their web activity logs.
What this means is, Apple is actively working on the update, and it could be released soon. If I’m to take a guess, we might expect the update to arrive next week. But I will stick to the word ‘soon’ than anything else here.
In terms of changes, we can expect nothing more than bug fixes and security related updates from iOS 18.3.1 and iPadOS 18.3.1.
Though iOS 18.3 and iPadOS 18.3 updates are quite stable, there are still a few bugs lurking around that may become a cause of annoyance for a lot of users out there.
Hopefully, the new update will patch things up and make things as smooth as possible.
Whenever the update becomes available for download, it’s best that you go ahead and install it immediately. You can do that by going to Settings > General > Software Update.
Though you don’t have to follow the steps above, especially if you have automatic updates enabled, I will highly recommend installing the update immediately whenever it shows up.
Feature-packed updates are always fun to have around, but I would rather have extremely stable software that is packed with security fixes instead, like 18.3.1.
There’s nothing more satisfying than software that doesn’t drop a single frame while you use your iPhone and iPad.
Sadly, that dream is very, very far away.
