There’s no doubt Apple is way behind its competition when it comes to AI, despite years and years of work in the background.
Apple Intelligence isn’t Winning Prizes in Key Areas and Apple Needs to Rethink How it Takes Everything Forward
Apple Intelligence is seeing a staggered rollout. Even as I type this, one feature which Apple announced back at WWDC isn’t even here yet – a more advanced Siri.
According to a new report by Bloomberg, Apple’s new Siri might not be ready until iOS 18.5 because Apple has run into some issues.
While it’s true Apple was never early to the party when it comes to AI, at this point, Apple is getting decimated by the competition in so many areas.
These delays aren’t going to help the company in any way either. If someone is buying a phone, tablet or computer solely for AI, Apple Intelligence isn’t the place to be at.
Third-party apps from the App Store are doing a better job at AI stuff.
I’m certain you’ve already seen the videos in which many users are comparing Galaxy AI and Apple’s Clean Up feature in the Photos app. You would be completely fooling yourself to believe Apple is doing a fine job at that.
Not only that, Gemini can find a pet-friendly restaurant near you and send it as a text message as well. I’m sure you’ve seen that ad as well.
Apple Intelligence is nowhere near that much usefulness at all, and it won’t be, if the latest report is to be believed.
Before this turns into a mile-long rant, I’ll just say this – Apple is falling behind in AI in key areas which make the most sense for users. So far, Galaxy AI, Gemini and more are absolutely crushing it.
I sincerely hope the report is absolutely untrue, and Apple manages to release the new and advanced Siri with iOS 18.4.
It’s clear that Apple wasn’t prepared for the sudden rise of AI and the delayed features are a pure reflection of that.
But, the one thing that throws me off the most is how Apple Intelligence is not so great at certain things despite Apple’s work in machine learning for so many years.

If you have multiple Google accounts and you want to sign in, you will choose an account ID from Passwords, and on the next page on which you are supposed to enter the password, it will recommend a password from an entirely different Google account.
Such a basic thing that’s been done wrong for years at this point.
