Apple Invites is centered around Apple Intelligence a lot. But, does it work on an iPhone that does not support AI?
iOS 18 is a Strict Requirement if You Want to Use the Invites App on Your iPhone
The simple answer to that question is: yes, if you have a non-Apple Intelligence iPhone, the Invites app will work just fine on it.
There are only two requirements of the app: you should have iOS 18 installed and you should be subscribed to iCloud+. The latter costs $0.99 a month.
It’s important that you know both of these things. I’m sure someone will just subscribe to iCloud+ just to find out later that iOS 18 is a strict requirement.
Please don’t do that.
Another thing – even if you have a device that supports Apple Intelligence, like the iPhone 15 Pro or Pro Max, and are currently running iOS 17.x and subscribed to iCloud+, you still can’t use Apple Invites app.
The thing that really gets me is the iCloud+ requirement. I’m quite certain Apple could have done without it, too.
Anyway, you have your answer, and you can absolutely chill knowing about the thing that kept you up at night.

Though the Invites app is great and all, do you really need it? Sure, if every single person you know coming to your event has an iPhone, runs iOS 18, and is subscribed to iCloud+ as well.
That is actually a hefty requirement right there. More specifically, iCloud+.
Quite frankly, there are a ton of third-party apps that do the same thing as well. But asking everyone to install it for an event invite could be too much for some people.
Then again, you have to download Invites from the App Store as well. It does not come preinstalled on iPhones. Though there is a chance Apple may just bundle it with brand-new iPhones just like Pages, Numbers, and Keynotes.
