Apple has released iPadOS 17.7.5 for a couple of older iPad models that do not support iPadOS 18 – download now.
Apple Releases iPadOS 17.7.5 for iPad with Bug and Security Fixes, Download it Right Now
It’s actually quite surprising that Apple did not release iOS 17.7.5 today. However, if you have an iPad, there’s a brand-new update waiting for you.
That update is iPadOS 17.7.5, and you can download it by going to Settings > General > Software Update. Download the update once it shows up.
IPSW files for iPadOS 17.7.5 are available for download but for just for a couple of iPad models.
iPadOS 17.7.5 is nothing more than a bug fix and security update. There are no new features and you shouldn’t expect any as long as you’re on iPadOS 17.7.x.
You do have the option to clean install the latest iPadOS update. All you have to do is grab the IPSW file from the link above, connect your iPad to your Mac, launch Finder, click on the ‘Restore iPad’ button while holding down the Option key, and then select the downloaded firmware file.
We are extremely close to the release of iOS 18.4 and iPadOS 18.4 betas. In fact, in just a few months, Apple is going to announce iOS 19 and iPadOS 19.
It remains to be seen if Apple will take the 17.7.x update all the way till September or start forcing users to 18.x before that. I’m talking about devices that can run iOS 18 but haven’t been updated to the latest update.
Given how generous Apple has been so far, I’m not going to speculate anything at all. Just enjoy the iOS 17.7.x train and make sure you download new updates as they arrive.
