Well, this is a huge miss. The iPhone 16e does not feature MagSafe, nor does it support Qi2 fast charging.

Apple Took the Decision to Not Include MagSafe or Qi2 Wireless Charging in iPhone 16e. Too Harsh, Maybe?

While the iPhone 16e does feature wireless charging, it does not include MagSafe, which means that it does not support Qi2.

I went through Apple’s website multiple times thinking it’s a mistake, but apparently, it is not.

I see this as a huge miss from Apple, especially when you consider that this phone starts at $599 and carries the iPhone 16 name. Support for MagSafe would have gotten a lot of people hooked to the accessory ecosystem that exists right now.

The missing Camera Control button makes sense at this price point, but something so simple as MagSafe seems a little too much.

In order to charge the iPhone 16e, you can use any Qi charger you may have lying around. Even if it’s Qi2, but you won’t get the speed benefits, nor your iPhone will stick to it.

You can expect speeds of up to 7.5W while using a Qi charger, as long as the charger advertises that speed; else, you’ll be charging at just 5W. At this point, pretty much every new Qi charger supports 7.5W output.

Given the amount of MagSafe accessories I have, and the amount of times I use it, this is definitely a deal-breaker for me. But it might not be for you. It’s just missing some magnets; a lot of people may not even notice it.
