Previously, it was believed the Apple Studio Display 2 would be released this year. Turns out, that might not be the case.
Apple Studio Display 2 will Launch in 2026 with Same Design and 27-inch Panel Size
The Studio Display 2 is definitely happening, and the latest report suggested that it is going to be Mini LED as well. Definitely a big upgrade over the current model.
The same report suggested that the display will launch at the end of this year. However, Mark Gurman has chimed in and says the display will launch in 2026 instead.
Featuring the codename J427, the new Studio Display is set to launch alongside the M5 lineup of Macs. Interestingly, the M5 chip is currently going into mass production as well.
In terms of design, nothing is going to change at all. If you were thinking about thinner bezels or something else, it’s not happening, at least according to this report.
The display size will remain the same as well, which is 27 inches on the current model. I think it’s more than enough for a lot of people, though it would have been nicer if we got a slightly larger display in the same size package.
The previous report suggested that the next Studio Display will make the transition to Mini LED. That alone is going to be a massive upgrade compared to a regular LCD panel.
What this means is, the Studio Display is going to turn into the perfect HDR display at a similar price point, unless Apple plans to change it
It would be a nice touch if the display got a refresh rate boost as well. Anything above 60Hz will be nice.
