With the release of Apple’s iPhone 16e, the iPhone SE era has finally come to an end.
Apple is Done Playing Around with iPhone SE, Takes a New Route by Expanding the Flagship Lineup Instead
You expect the iPhone 16e to be a successor to the iPhone SE. But once you go through what it has to offer, and then read its name, you start to realize it’s taking a whole new direction.
Apple doesn’t want anything to do with the iPhone SE anymore. Almost like it has suffered from it rather than gaining anything.
Over the past few years, ‘SE’ has become synonymous with a ‘cheaper iPhone.’ An iPhone that’s always two steps behind in terms of design and hardware, yet it believed it can be a new buyer’s first choice.
Apple clearly wanted to fix that problem, and in doing so, it came up with a simple solution – just get rid of the iPhone SE entirely and step things up a little.

For some reason, it feels important for Apple too. The company published a full 12-minute video highlighting its features and capabilities. It has never done that for any iPhone SE. All of those phone have been announced through press releases.
Apple wants you to know the ‘cheaper’ iPhone now stands right next to the present flagship. In this case, it’s the iPhone 16 and iPhone 16 Pro.
However, first reactions to the phone have been all over the place. But don’t listen to people who already own an iPhone Pro or any other top-end iPhone model. This one’s for those who want to get as close as possible to the best without spending flagship money.
Will the new strategy work? Apple seems confident enough.
