These iPhone Fold Specs are Likely Fake but Fun to Read

Rumor has it Apple is working on a folding iPhone. Today, alleged specs have popped up, and it’s a fun little read.

A New Rumor Sheds Light on Specs of the Alleged Folding iPhone that is Set for Release in Fall of 2026

I have zero interest in a foldable device. It has to be really great at something that a regular phone or tablet isn’t.

A phone turning into a bigger phone or tablet just doesn’t cut it for me. I want it to solve a huge problem that a regular form-factor device can’t.

Having said that, I think these devices look cool, and news about a folding iPhone definitely gets me on the edge of my seat.

According to the latest rumor, the folding iPhone is definitely happening and the specs shared online, likely not true, really make the foldable device sound phenomenal.

According to the rumored specs, the folding iPhone will have a 6.1-inch display that reveals a large 12-inch display when unfolded.

Though previous rumors said the folding iPhone would be like the Z Flip, this rumor suggests the iPhone unfolds horizontally to reveal a larger display.

When it comes to thickness, the folding iPhone is going to be 9.2mm thick when folded.

When unfolded, it will be 4.6mm think only, which is crazy thin for a device like this. If this is true, it will be thinner than the iPhone 17 Air that is set for release this year.

Samsung is said to supply the display of this device, and why wouldn’t they, right? Because it has a ton of experience making foldable devices, and it makes sense for Apple to tap into the company for the folding iPhone.

The folding iPhone will have two batteries inside with a total capacity of 5,000mAh, and there will be a dual camera lens setup at the back for photos and videos.

When can we expect this iPhone to arrive? Apparently, Fall of 2026. That’s right around the corner.

All of that sounds fantastic, but I have no idea about the track record of the leaker itself. This stuff just appeared out of thin air. But nonetheless, it’s a fun little read of specs that may or may not be true at all.

Interestingly, an old rumor did support the 2026 release time frame as well. In fact, we can expect a folding iPad and a MacBook in 2027 as well, something which the leak also talks about.
