Get a Taste of the Apple II on Your iPhone Lock Screen with a Wallpaper Inspired by Apple’s Computer from 1977
The Apple II is a fascinating piece of hardware. It’s the most important computer of all time, and it’s exactly where Apple took its successful start from.
These days, we might see it as a piece of history, but it holds its own when it comes to inspiring people, including me.
When I was making this wallpaper, I took a little bit of color from all areas of the Apple II. The background is the color of the plastic enclosure from the computer but slightly modified to make it fitting for the iPhone display.
The color of the waveforms is inspired by the early Apple logo and the color of the keys on the keyboard. Sure, there are more colors that could have made it to the wallpaper, but it would have been a colorful mess.
The wallpaper is the perfect mix of retro and minimalism. There are no shadows, no gradients, nothing.
