Find Out if Your AirPods are Running the Latest Firmware Update and Install the Latest One if Necessary

Apple releases firmware updates for AirPods from time to time, ensuring everything runs as smoothly as possible.

But, are you running the latest firmware update or an older one? You can easily that find out too by following a few steps on your iPhone and iPad.

This tutorial is applicable to all AirPods models, including the AirPods Pro and AirPods Max.

Step 1. Connect your AirPods to your iPhone or iPad.

Step 2. Launch the Settings app.

Step 3. Right at the top of Settings you should see your AirPods. Tap on it to open.

Step 4. Scroll all the way down to the About section. Here, you’ll see Version. That’s the firmware update version that is currently installed on your AirPods. Take note of this.

Step 5. Now open this link using Safari. Here, you’ll find the latest firmware version that is available for all AirPods model. Just compare the version you took note of in step 4.

Keep going if your version is different.
