A new report suggests that Apple is going to expand existing Apple Intelligence features to new apps rather than introduce something new.
iOS 19 Will Expand Existing Apple Intelligence Features to New Apps
Instead of introducing brand new Apple Intelligence features, Apple is simply going to bring existing ones to new apps, according to Bloomberg.
Given how many delays Apple is seeing when rolling out new features, it’s best to focus on expanding current features than think ahead. I’m definitely pointing my finger at the advanced Siri here, a feature that is now delayed until iOS 20.
Though I believe Apple’s AI implementation is one of the best around, it will be interesting to see how deep this integration will go with iOS 19.
Further opening up Apple Intelligence to developers will definitely help Apple in a lot of ways. At this point, it’s very hard to speculate what exactly we can expect from the next update, but it’s clear that Apple is taking the slow and steady route rather than going all out.
Though details are sparse regarding iOS 19 itself, we did get a glimpse of what to expect in terms of design. A recent leak suggested that iOS 19 will take cues from visionOS, especially in the Camera app.
Will that design language translate to every other aspect of the OS? It remains to be seen.
Another important thing worth noting about iOS 19 is this: it will be available for every single iPhone that can run iOS 18. If Apple actually pulls this off, you can hold on to that trusty old iPhone of yours for another year before thinking about upgrading.
