Apple has released a brand-new firmware update for the 25W MagSafe Charger for iPhone.
New 2A146 Firmware Update for 25W MagSafe Charger Now Available for Download
The MagSafe Charger receives firmware updates from time to time, and a new one has been released for the latest 25W model.
The new firmware update 2A146 is available right now, and it will be installed whenever you use it to charge your iPhone. There is no manual way to download the update, and there are no release notes either.
In case you’re wondering, the older firmware is 2A143.
But I’m only going to assume that these firmware updates ensure better efficiency while charging, which makes them extremely important if you exclusively use wireless charging.
In my testing, I’ve noticed that these firmware updates usually download overnight and not during the day for some reason. I’m guessing this is deliberate to ensure the smoothest possible installation.
Even if you have an older iPhone model, you can still use the 25W version for fast charging. 25W charging speed is exclusive to the iPhone 16, while every other iPhone will charge at 15W.
