Setting up a macOS or Linux virtual machine has never been this easy, thanks to a nifty little app for Mac called VirtualBuddy.
VirtualBuddy Lets You Set up a Virtual macOS or Linux Installation Quickly and Easily on Any Apple Silicon Mac
For a lot of people, one instance of an operating system is more than enough. But if you do want a second one, dual booting is something you might consider.
The problem is, on an Apple silicon Mac, dual booting is not an option, and that’s where setting up a virtual machine comes in handy.
There are plenty of apps to choose from with varying degrees of complications, and VirtualBuddy aims to leapfrog everything else with its simplicity.
From macOS Monterey all the way to macOS Sequoia, this app works its magic, allowing you to test out any other version of macOS virtually on an Apple silicon Mac.
But it gets better.
Users can even test out beta builds of macOS as well, all without having to give up your existing installation of macOS.

You even have the option to test out ARM versions of Linux, too. It’s a great way to use an entirely new operating system without buying a new computer.
You can download macOS or Linux straight from the VirualBuddy interface or provide your own images if you have any.
Last but not least, options to adjust how much RAM, storage, or processing power is spared for your virtual machine come as standard.
The app is available for download straight from GitHub.
