Apple has stopped signing iOS 18.3.2 and iPadOS 18.3.2 updates for iPhone and iPad, which means a downgrade from 18.4 is no longer possible.
Downgrade from iOS 18.4 to iOS 18.3.2 No Longer Possible as Apple Stops Signing the Older Firmware for iPhone and iPad
When Apple stops signing a particular firmware version, you can no longer downgrade or upgrade straight to it.
In the context of iOS 18.4 and iPadOS 18.4, which were released just recently, you cannot downgrade back to iOS 18.3.2 or iPadOS 18.3.2.
If you encountered bugs on iOS 18.4, such as the CarPlay one, and were wondering about downgrading from iOS 18.4, you can’t do that anymore no matter what you tried.
I’m certain Apple is going to fix all CarPlay issues in a future iOS 18.4.1 update, and we should expect it to arrive soon. After all, people do take such a thing seriously since their entire car ride depends on it.
But, do keep in mind Apple hasn’t officially said anything regarding an incoming update.
If you are planning to install the latest iOS or iPadOS update on your iPhone and iPad anyway, you can do so by going to Settings > General > Software Update on your device. Tap on Update Now when 18.4 shows up.
Currently, iOS 18.5 and iPadOS 18.5 are available for developers as well, and hopefully these updates are going to address a lot of issues which users have been seeing on their iPhones and iPads.
