Someone decided to take things into their own hands and brought the ChatGPT app to iPhone 3GS.

Proof-of-Concept App Brings ChatGPT to Apple’s iPhone 3GS Smartphone

It’s no secret that the iPhone 3GS has lost all software support from Apple. And while you can make apps for it, you can’t distribute them officially anymore. That boat sailed a long time ago.

This also means latest apps like ChatGPT don’t exist for the iPhone 3GS either.

But one developer decided to take things up a notch and made a fully-featured ChatGPT app for Apple’s super-old smartphone.

Called ChatGPT for Legacy iOS, it has every single feature you expect from a ChatGPT client. It even ships with UI elements that match the aesthetics of iOS 6.

You even get support for uploading photos and even generate images whenever needed.

However, there is a problem, and I’m sure you’ve figured that out by now.

Since you can’t distribute apps on the App Store for a phone as old as the iPhone 3GS, this means you have to side-load the app, which is only possible on a jailbroken iPhone 3GS.

Not only that, you have to get the ChatGPT API key from the official website and integrate it with the app so that it taps into OpenAI’s servers.

Up for it? Have an iPhone 3GS? Then head over to the official website here: chatgptlegacy.com
