Apple Releases First Public Beta of iOS 18.5 and iPadOS 18.5, Download it Today

Apple has released the first public beta of iOS 18.5 and iPadOS 18.5. This means that if you have a supported device, you can go right ahead and test out the update immediately.

First and foremost, you have to sign up to the beta.apple.com website using your Apple Account. Once enrolled, follow the steps:

Step 1. Launch the Settings app.

Step 2. Go to General > Software Update > Beta Updates.

Step 3. Select iOS 18 Public Beta.

Step 4. Go to Settings > General > Software Update.

Step 5. Tap on Update Now.

The public beta of iOS 18.5 and iPadOS 18.5 includes the same changes as developer beta 2 which was released this week. This means extremely minor changes, improvements, bug fixes and no new feature additions for both iPhone and iPad.

Once you do install the update, make sure you immediately download the next update as it arrives to ensure everything runs as smoothly as possible.

Apple usually releases new public betas on a weekly basis, but it can make an exception and extend that time period.

Beta updates can be extremely unpredictable, and there’s a chance you may encounter a bug or two during day-to-day usage, which is absolutely normal too.
