As expected, Apple is working on the iOS 18.4.1 update for iPhone, and it should be out very soon.

iOS 18.4.1 Update for iPhone Starts Showing up in Web Logs, Will Likely Fix CarPlay Issue Introduced with 18.4

With the release of iOS 18.4, it came to everyone’s attention that it had issues related to CarPlay. It was safe to assume that Apple would fix the issue with a new software update.

Today, iOS 18.4.1 has started to show up in activity logs online, which means it should be released soon.

Apart from the known CarPlay issue, there is a chance the update may fix other bugs as well, if they’ve been found and reported to Apple.

Whenever the update arrives, you can download it over the air and install it immediately. You may do so by going to Settings > General > Software Update.

For now, the update is likely in its testing phases. It would be great if Apple manages to release it today or within this week rather than delay it further.

I know how important CarPlay is for a lot of people, especially those who rely on it for navigating through Apple or Google Maps.
