Apple’s upcoming iOS 19 and iPadOS 19 software updates will be compatible with the following iPhone and iPad devices.

iOS 19 and iPadOS 19 Won’t be Compatible with Every Single iPhone and iPad, Something to be Expected

Previously, it was rumored that every single iPhone and iPad would receive the iOS 19 update. Today, it seems like that’s not the case.

According to information shared on X by a very reliable leaker, iOS 19 and iPadOS 19 are going to drop support for some devices.

Those devices include the iPhone XR, iPhone XS, and iPhone XS Max. The rest of the compatible iPhones are as follows:

On the iPad side of things, support for the 7th-generation iPad will be dropped, and it makes sense, since it’s an ancient device at this point.

Having said that, every other iPad model that currently supports iPadOS 18 will be able to run iPadOS 19.

Apple is going to announce the first beta of iOS 19 and iPadOS 19 in June at WWDC 2025. On the same day, we will officially know which devices will be compatible with the latest software.

iOS 19 and iPadOS 19 are expected to feature major design and UI upgrades.
