iPhone 6s and 2018 Mac mini are now vintage, according to Apple in its updated list of products.
Apple’s Updated List of Vintage Products Includes iPhone 16s and 2018 Mac mini with Intel Processor
Released back in 2015, the iPhone 6s was probably the best ‘s’ upgrade for an iPhone. It introduced features like 3D Touch, offered a massive boost in performance thanks to the A9 chip, and more.
Today, the smartphone is now considered vintage by Apple, which means service and repair will be limited to availability of parts. Which means if you live in an area which can’t source parts for repair, then you might want to consider upgrading sooner or later.
On the other hand, the 2018 Mac mini is now considered vintage as well. This was the last Intel Mac mini released before the Apple silicon model.
It feels just like yesterday this Mac mini was around, but this design is no more and has been replaced by the new and smaller M4 Mac mini.
Personally, I have never owned an Intel-powered Mac mini, but I have used it many times. It was surprisingly good for the price.
My first Mac mini was the M2 model, and that was a computer that got me hooked to the Mac more than ever.
Interestingly, there will come a day when Apple silicon Macs will join Apple’s vintage list as well. It’s wild how fast time moves on in the world of tech.
