In a very, very interesting move, the iPhone along with pretty much all other Apple products are exempt from recent tariffs.

US Customs and Border Protection Exempt Products like iPhone and More from Tariffs

President Trump announced a massive 145% tariff on goods imported from China, which means devices like the iPhone would suddenly become expensive.

A lot of people started to panic-buy the iPhone in fear of rising prices, but the White House has suddenly changed course and has exempted a lot of parts and completed goods from tariffs.

Basically, everything is back to the base 10% tariff for such goods.

Things like memory, processors, laptops, tablets, and more are exempted from the 145% tariff, as reported by Bloomberg. Basically, pretty much every product Apple sells is safe and prices won’t change in the foreseeable future.

The reason is, it would take years for companies to set up manufacturing plants in the United States; hence, the tariff exemption is the only way to keep things rolling.

This is definitely a big win for customers, especially those who have been saving up to buy the latest tech gadgets.

However, do keep in mind that the U.S. government is working on specific tariffs for different sectors. What this means is that tariffs may return in one form or the other in the near future.
